We need strong checks and balances across every branch of government. People like @KristiNoem , @PeteHegseth , and @RFKJr_Official should never have been appointed to these positions. The Senate has failed in its duty to hold the president accountable by approving unqualified nominees for positions that serve the American people. Spent the weekend in Kingwood because representation starts with listening. I spent most of my time hearing about the challenges neighbors are currently facing. It was great to support local businesses at the nearby festival.

@SteveTothTX tells us that Republicans are bringing prices down.  I don't know which district he lives in. Apparently, not CD2! The U.S. housing market just hit a historic wall, creating the largest gap ever recorded. High home prices and elevated mortgage rates have made it increasingly difficult for Gen Z and millennials to buy homes. In 2025, the median age of first-time U.S. home buyers hit a record high of 40 years old. This median age has jumped significantly during the past decade. Because incomes have not kept pace with housing costs, many younger Americans are locked out of homeownership. The war in Iran, which is driving up mortgage rates higher, is further exacerbating this problem.
