There was only one thing that surprised me about the Jubilee with MAGA die-hards. It wasn't that some people scream and refuse to stop talking. It wasn't that these were mostly young people cheering and finding purpose in wars but never fighting in them. It wasn't that their politics is more of a cult of personality. All expected and found in all factions. It was that, despite being political junkies, they had no idea about Trump's enormous corruption scandals because the corporate and independent media they consume doesn't mention it. Every year, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring. They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died. France also gave us this land as American soil. #MemorialDayWeekend

The bike lane people have woken the sleeping giant: the 99% of people who are inconvenienced by them. Bike lanes are an idea born of Woke Era nonsense and anti-car hysteria. People who think they are eco-friendly are wrong. The congestion and longer drive times negate the carbon offset of the 1% of commutes that convert to bikes. The safety argument falls apart when you learn the bike lane lobby doesn’t support the single action you can take to make riding a bike safer: wearing a helmet. (They oppose helmet mandates because they lower overall bike ridership, which lowers the bike lobby’s political clout.) Even if this aldermanic challenger running on an anti bike lane platform loses, we have still seen the peak of the bike lane nonsense. They are becoming too hot of a potato for the average politician to stick their neck out for. We’re winning. No more tyranny of the minority.

@WaldeClayton @2024dion No. ORD’s airfield is very large with more runways than any other passenger airport in the world, so it can look desolate from outside your plane window. But there has been development on all sides of the perimeter of the airport since at least the mid 90s if not earlier

@blueskies_sean @FlipperiPerri @2024dion What’s needed at ORD are additional gates, not more runways. The new terminal project will add some gates but more satellite concourses will be needed in the future. No need for a new airport, just more gates

Boomers seem to forget that fast food used to be a normal, everyday expense for them because it was affordable. You could get a burger easily on minimum wage, it wasn’t some fancy treat you had once a year as a reward for pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.
