₹10,037.5 crores have been spent in Phase 1 of the SWAMIH Fund, which was launched in 2019. Final closure for this phase was achieved in December 2022. To date, 63,200 units have been completed, out of a total portfolio of 1.14 lakh homes targeted for completion.
Because Phase 1 successfully achieved its goals, SWAMIH’s second phase has been launched and is currently ongoing to provide solutions for the remaining stalled projects.
Our intention is to complete as many stalled projects as possible to provide redressal to the middle-income group, which has been severely affected.

Inside @iitmadras, scientists are attempting something neuroscience has pursued for over a century — building a complete, cellular-level map of the human brain.
At the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre, researchers are reconstructing brains slice by microscopic slice, transforming delicate biological tissue into detailed digital maps that allow scientists to navigate the brain almost like Google Earth for the human mind.
As reported by @moneycontrolcom, nearly 400 donated brains — from second-trimester fetuses to centenarians — are forming the foundation of a powerful reference atlas that could transform how researchers understand ageing, neurological diseases, and human cognition.
Led by Prof. Mohanasankar Sivaprakasam from the Dept of Electrical Engineering, the work converts each brain into petabyte-scale datasets, enabling unprecedented exploration at the cellular level. The initiative is also unique in its funding, supported through a rare combination of philanthropy, corporate social responsibility funding, and government backing, including contributions from Mr Kris Gopalakrishnan and Mr Prem Watsa.
By bringing together neuroscience, engineering, and artificial intelligence, this pioneering effort could reshape how the world studies the brain — from development and ageing to conditions such as Alzheimer’s and stroke.
