@WalterSpeller @chriswinedoctor The Cinderella-like “stories” of wading out of a sea of bad wine, without the happy ending are nearly always the preamble to every journalistic piece I read. It’s like driving the nails into the coffin, or keeping us stuck in our pigeon holes.

I little piece of me dies every time I see a wine pigeon-holed according to an understanding of the appellation as it was 20+ years ago. Regions and styles evolve - especially in the Loire with a framework of new crus, a new generation of winemakers and a new climate.
