The rRAD study demonstrates that a multiple risk factor intervention is possible and likely stabilized loss of cognitive function in people early in the disease process. The blood pressure lowering in the control arm - in my mind most likely due to improved medication adherence - lowered the power of the intervention to find a difference. This should not deter further attempts at multi-risk factor interventions.

Proud to be part of this rRAD trial with Rong Zhang. Although well‑structured programs may not produce cognitive change over 2 years, high-intensity statin Rx in older adults in our study doesn’t result in worsening of cognitive function as once fear. @utswheart @UTSWInternalMed

SGLT2 inhibition in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes and CKD Experiencing a Deterioration in Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate to <20ml/min/1.73m2 In patients with type 2 diabetes and CKD whose eGFR fell <20ml/min/1.73m2, continuation of canagliflozin was associated with persistent benefit for kidney and cardiovascular outcomes with no additional safety concerns.
