🚨 𝕏 is currently a full-blown sob fest because Plex said “hey, new Lifetime Plex Pass goes from $249.99 to $749.99 on July 1st.” 🚨 The tears are flowing harder than a 4K remux on a potato server. “Corporate greed!” “This is the end!” “I’m switching to Jellyfin!!” Chill. Let’s talk facts with extra sarcasm. It’s. Not. Mandatory. Your money is YOUR money. You can spend it on the Lifetime Pass, or you can spend it on overpriced coffee, funko pops, or that one NFT you still won’t admit was a mistake. Plex isn’t holding your library hostage. The free tier still exists. Basic streaming still works. If the new price doesn’t spark joy, cool, don’t buy it. Problem solved. What Plex did do is build one of the most polished, actually-usable media server solutions normal humans have ever seen. Beautiful apps on every device, metadata that doesn’t look like it was scraped by a drunk raccoon, remote access that mostly just works, and features that make movie night feel like actual Netflix instead of “please stand by while I debug ffmpeg again.” Supporting the company and the devs who made that? Wild concept, I know. You’ve got roughly a month and a half to lock in the current price before it triples. Instead of crying on main about a price increase that hasn’t even happened yet, why not just… buy it now if you actually want it? Revolutionary idea, I’m aware. But if you’re purely here for the complaint content, you know, the same people who were never buying a Lifetime Pass anyway and just love the drama… then congrats, you’re the problem. Keep it moving. Quit rage-posting about software you have zero interest in using. Your outrage addiction is showing and it’s not cute. Touch grass. Touch code. Touch anything except the “post” button on this particular topic. Plex ain’t perfect. No software is. But acting like they personally betrayed you by adjusting an optional one-time upgrade after years of updates is some next-level entitlement. Buy it while it’s cheap or don’t. Either way, the timeline will survive. Who’s actually grabbing it before July 1st and who’s just here for the memes? Be honest. 😂
