@RVAwonk It's ideal astro-weather for a holy war. Everything is being framed now as some battle between vague "good and evil" bc Neptune is in Aries again & it's squaring Jupiter in Cancer. When people are dumb and hateful, that's how they perceive that activating call for redemption.

Why is everything bad a “demon” or “satanic” all of a sudden? Everywhere I look, someone is describing something in those terms (“evil,” etc) and I don’t understand where it’s coming from or why everyone decided to start speaking like that.

My trick to staying happy is to pretend I’m a hunter from the last Ice Age transported to our time. Suddenly the smallest things – glass windows, locks, bound books – are marvels beyond telling. The tap runs with ever-flowing water. I’m grateful not to be impaled by a boar.

Stuff like this drives me insane. It's extremely demeaning and inherently dehumanizing to disabled people. It turns them into props to make other people look good. Think about what's actually going on here. Notice the language that's being used. "Night to Shine" -- not their night, Tebow's night. He walks them down the carpet. How blessed they are to receive his generosity. The entire event is structured so that Tim Tebow is the focus and the disabled people are objects to be worn like an exotic hat. "Celebrate and uplift" -- from where? From below, of course. The whole concept is built on the idea that disabled people are beneath able bodied people like Tim Tebow, who is being so generous as to reach down to temporarily elevate them with his presence. And then what? The next morning they go back to their normal lives with the same challenges. The same medical system that fails them. The same society that looks away. But Tim Tebow got his video. The people watching it got to feel good about themselves. The ritual performed its function, which was never about the disabled people, but about everyone else. Someone watches this and thinks, "we're doing something for these disabled people." It's a form of denial. It provides an unearned feeling of compassion, without requiring people to actually do anything.

But she can eat contaminated food if she wants. And if my opinion is offending your folks, you can keep eating their rings if you want.

@shes_a_reader @wealthorriches They wash they hands the entire time they cook at home. Our elders kept they rings on UNLESS it was a real dirty clean up job and even then they’ll keep them on. Like it’s weird to tell somebody how to cook in THEY house.

@Cromwelp One glance at this neighborhood and its pristine lawns and it's obvious that loud and obnoxious leaf blowers & landscaping machinery is far more frequent noise pollution than any motorcycle. It makes no sense.

Suburbia is so mundane it causes sensory psychosis where something normal (like riding a motorbike) drives you insane enough to run in front of one to try and stop it. There's a genuinely brilliant Sunny episode about exactly that.

@Jamellbell Unforgivable Oscar snub. This performance was incredible. It takes such talent to play controlled, authoritative insanity and never once telegraph his choices.

Acting centerpiece of the film. Plays like a back and forth match between tennis legends, hard swings, rushes to defense, grunts and yowls except they take the form of body language and facial tics and expressions. Brilliant stuff here, and look no yelling!

@JamesResEvil @shadowknightdk If he knew his character (a guy who's deep with black revolutionaries) he'd know that he would not struggle with non-binary pronouns and gender identity. This whole sequence breaks that character irreparably, and it's very out-of-touch rich white guy to make that obvious mistake.

He's not just defending AI energy use. He is smuggling in a whole anthropology where humans are basically inefficient meat computers that you have to pour food and years into before they become useful. And once you accept that, the next move is obvious. If people are just costly biological training runs, then burning mountains of electricity to build synthetic intelligence starts to feel not only equal, but superior, even if it negatively impacts actual humans. That is the dystopian. It makes human development sound like a bug in the system, and it makes sacrificing human and creational flourishing for more computational power sound logical. To him, the grid gets strained, prices go up, ecosystems get hit, but hey, humans eat too, so what's the difference? The difference is that humans aren't an inefficient line item. They're the point. If your worldview can look at a child growing into an adult and describe it as energy spent to train intelligence, you haven't said something profound. You've revealed a horrifically rotten worldview.
