After a new operation by the SBU, the Russian Federation is completely shutting down its oil wells. Because the largest refineries have been destroyed or paralyzed and oil exports have dropped sharply, Russia has nowhere to put the extracted oil. Pipelines are overloaded, storage facilities are full, and there aren’t enough tankers. As a result, they have begun dumping hundreds of thousands of tons of oil directly into the ground and rivers — confirmed by both satellite imagery and local sources in oil-producing regions. The situation is especially severe in: • Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug • Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug • Samara and Orenburg regions Large-scale contamination of soil and rivers is already being recorded there. Oil is simply spilling onto the surface, forming massive black lakes. This is an environmental catastrophe that will be felt for decades.
