Can someone please explain to me why we are still waiting until AFTER a package is published and distributed to take action? Why doesn’t npm scan packages with Socket or similar before allowing them to be distributed?

UPDATE: Pi Agent only used 3% of my weekly Codex quota for a 2h session post reset I'm testing with $20 ChatGPT Plus sub and with this pace of ~1-2% per hour, that's ~50h per week Just 10h over a typical 40h work week! Very interesting is how my 284 turn session went from 12M to 2M total tokens (/tree lists 568 total interactions so I just divided by 2 to count as a turn) Have to dig into Pi agent source yet but it looks like an internal auto compaction at work? Cause if the counter resets after compaction, Total messages should be back to 0 not 68. Instead, it went from 307 to 68. I only compacted once after I posted the same session at 12M, just a couple of hours ago Still need to do more digging to figure this out If this keeps up though, I feel like I need to build more stuff to maximize my model subscriptions!

So depending on the function you can either handle specific error (do a fallback like load a fallback file) return a fallback value (a different object or an empty value) or do nothing and hadle eslewhere

@TheChigerian @rolandreads @ASpittel Scoped blocks (closure) that doesn’t clutter the variable namespace. It’s ugly, sure but it’s still a tool. In rust, you can assign block output, ifs, etc to a variable. You can use iife in the same way. You can find those in some frameworks code.
