To be clear: this can be opted out from, and that dialog is the first one you see if you follow the link from the email that announces these changes. The disappointing bit is that things like these should always be opt-in, never opt-out.

@mehulkar @RhysSullivan the skill descriptions get loaded into context for your session so ostensibly the coding agent would pattern match against the description to trigger without operator explicitly using a slash command

skills is still not sitting right with me as a concept i think it's because companies rushed to them as the next big thing as is what happens with all ai things now everyone is their docs as skills but it's recreating all the issues (authority, up to dateness) docs solved

@mykola the agents LOVE elixir i find it readable too but im less and less inclined to even look it's the correct tool for the job in so many ways

@joelhooks Yeah this is basically exactly my calculus. The siren song of the BEAM caught me about ten years ago but no ships use it. Highly limited career options. I built some toys and put it away. But in this new agent-first code-is-free context? Hmm.

@somewheresy i think the nature of the "claw" system (agent as the computer, expanded boundaries, high cardinality contextual access to services) is the bigger idea. more than openclaw as an expression of the idea anyway

I wonder if it will stick, or be replaced by fights over harnesses and custom harnesses going forward. Does it onboard a bunch of new AI engineers? Do bankers get into Nick Land and print out Beff tweets? What the hell’s gonna happen to all these folks

I’m still having trouble wrapping my mind around how fast and the scale that OpenClaw is exploding in popularity for the business-corporate class
