You never hear about King Arthur anymore really No one is into it; I feel like it was really popular in the 70s and 80s and then Arthurian Legend just seemed to fall off hard after the aughts What happened there

@donguriweb I absolutetly love katsu don. I also prefer traditional sushi rolls and sashimi. The ginger dressing for salads is wonderful.

To the male gamers out there - would you give up video games if a potential romantic partner wanted you to? Saw a tweet going around from a woman who said ladies find it disgusting when men game and it’s a major turn off as a partner.

this guy is getting clowned a lot today. I’m European, Italy, and just spent 1 month in USA: - a lot of US work is performative. I’ve been to 5 different coworks. There are barely people there on weekends. - SF is full of homeless. - they grind harder but the lifestyle in US forces you to do it. You make 10k but spend 8k to breathe in New York. - Euromaxxing is the end game of human existence. You work to enjoy yapping with friends and eating with family. If you exist just to work, congrats, we have AI for that. - you go to Greece, Spain, Italy and people enjoy life, food, women, beach, sunsets. - something is very wrong with US food. - US has massive capital and opportunities to become a millionaire and billionaire. - “touching grass” is a natural European mindset. Let me know your thoughts.

Okay guys, had a few cultural shocks in Spain: > Go to the gym, opens 10am on a Sunday > Go to work from a coworking, closed > Go to a coffee shop, no wifi Absolutely unthinkable in a barely productive economy like the US, yet alone UAE. Europe is a daylight museum.

Some of you aren't going to want to hear this on May the 4th, but Star Wars is awful. The original three where watchable I suppose, but revisiting them, they still aren't even good, never mind great. This message brought to you by Frodo and the Shire Boys.

@TheCinesthetic This was so fuckin stupid. When this scene started I thought, "finally some shit I actually want to see!" But then......🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡🤮 It was this very moment that I stopped going to any movie or watching any tv shows whatsoever. I havent spent a dime on a movie since then.

Of course, I don’t approve of this negativity toward men. It’s repulsive But the effect of having a gender skew toward female might be positive. Is there a reason to believe we wouldn’t all be happier with, say, 55% women and 45% men?
staysaasy@staysaasy

I hear people say this and it is so sad man. Smart people say stuff like “oh I’d never want a boy. I have to teach them to not be a violent predator.” This framing is fundamentally antagonistic to half the population and a huge problem in society.

Dave Ramsey tells a 64 year old on disability making $27,000 a year to find extra income Caller: "I get Social Security disability. I’m 64. It’s $27,000 a year. My rent is about $1,700 a month, and I have this $9,000 credit card debt, which I pay faithfully" Dave: "Come up with a self employed idea you can do with your limitations, as long as it makes you $1,000 or more a month"

@RealityRens "American Bread" we have hundreds of bread options here nationwide. There is no such thing as "American Bread." People that type"American Bread" or "American Food" are clueless and havent been here.

@CorralSummer We have European style bread here too. Whenever you see phrases like "American Food" or "American Bread" they are being typed by people who have never been here. The width and breadth of options in America is staggering. It is up to you to decide what you want.

@wahlstedt007 I view events as overall positive with some aspects not going as well as planned. I am %100 sure that a kamala harris presidency would have been hellishly clown world by comparison.

I had never seen the Soviet Krechet spacesuit, developed for the Soviet Moon expedition, this close up and in such detail. Holy shit, the dieselpunk level is unreal. I mean, if the Americans flew and landed their spacecraft with a full-fledged computer on board, the Soviets were supposed to fly basically on mechanics and automation. In other words, straight-up Newtonian: everything as lever-and-vacuum-tube as possible — and the spacesuit is from exactly the same universe. And yes, in theory, they could have landed the spacecraft, but there was a high chance it would have been a “landing” with no return. Since the Soviet rocket was weaker, only one person was supposed to land on the Moon, not two as in the U.S. program. That’s why, in the tests, you can see them practicing ways for a cosmonaut to get back on his feet if he fell. Because there would be no one there to help you. It really does break your brain when you imagine a person in this “canvas-pump-and-dial” suit — alone, on the Moon. But it has to be admitted: yes, there is a certain charm to this kind of extreme engineering minimalism turned up to full dieselpunk.
