Once again, Canada was left in the dark on US military operations inside Iran. Historically Canada's armed forces have been a key strategic ally for the United States—as was Britain. So what changed? Earlier this year, Mark Carney and his Liberals announced a new strategic alliance with China, which puts Canada into that axis along with Britain—who has also developed a similar alliance with China. A strategic alliance is deeper than a trade deal. The US has a trade deal with China.
