I got admitted to a university in China. 21. From Patna, Bihar. No scholarship. Self-sponsored. Payment deadline: June 7, 2026. I'm not waiting to be saved. I'm building the way there — publicly. Here's the honest story 🧵

The west loves revolutions in countries other than their own. They support in any which way they can. In their own country they can’t even cross a road without looking at a sign that says ‘walk’
NBC News@NBCNews

What began as an internet punchline is turning into something more serious. Indians online are rallying around the Cockroach Janta Party, or CJP, a parody political movement that has rapidly become a vehicle for venting anger over unemployment, corruption and the state of India’s democracy. nbcnews.com/world/asia/ind…

Having a "walk" sign is not a "gotcha" you think it is. It shows 1) they prefer following rules and law 2) pedestrians are respected 3) their infa is far superior than India. Not like India where life is hell for both drivers and pedestrians.

@Voiceofhindus India's hive mind will do as India's Vecna commands. When will this hive mind get out of its slumber and realize there's more to reality.

@DivaJain2 Checked the data. 1978-1989 (12 years), China's GDP grew at ~9.70% with multiple over 10% years macrotrends.net/global-metrics… These people are so high on the "gravy train", they will gaslight you with wrong data and will keep holding India back as long as the grift keeps flowing.

After the first 12 years of Deng in China, in 1990, China per capita GDP was still less than India. Deng grew per capita GDP by ~6% CAGR in 12 years. Modi has grown per capita GDP by ~5.3% CAGR despite higher base, COVID and democracy. At least check data before criticizing, no?
Priestlyclass Strongman@priestlyclass

Lol even after 12 years, people are still living in such delusions. He is nowhere close to Lee Kuan Yew or Deng Xiaoping, he's more of an accelerationist like Mikhail Gorbachev. Even without democracy, he would still be doing the same bare minimum mediocre stuff.

@DivaJain2 You may have sold you soul for a few shills from the ruling party but it takes special level of idiocy to justify every "L" the citizens are taking. If imports become more expensive, they will pass on the costs to consumers i.e you and me. JUST STOP IT, we are tired of this BS.

@nxd1979 @DrAnneCarpenter There are in Hindi as well. Some are more common than others. e.g. Chai-Shai (tea, more tea), Pakore-Shakore (snacks-more snacks), Kitab-Vitab (books-more books). Some can be completely made up on the spot and will still make sense e.g. tweet-shweet (tweet-more/fancy tweet)

my favorite linguistic quirk in any language has to be the m-reduplication in turkish, which consists of repeating a word with an m-prefix to mean "and other things like this". so e.g. "kitap" is book but "kitap mitap" is "books and some other book-like things"

The new class of HHMI investigators average 3.9 papers as corresponding author in Cell, Nature, or Science. 26 out of 26 members of this group previously trained with a PI who is in the National Academy of Sciences or who was an HHMI investigator themselves.
