When I took my second company through YC, he was president at the time, and then when I joined Founders Fund, the first deal I saw in motion was the post-ChatGPT round in late 2022. And as we started growing TBPN last year, he was the very first lab lead to join the show. Thank you to everyone that has been a part of TBPN until now. over time, ive come to understand the persistent equity risk premium as a combination of two factors: 1 - the denominator (USD) is going to zero at some annual rate*, which reflects into price "growth" over time 2 - the fundamentals (USD-based) are also inflating, allowing for consistent revenue growth, which then justifies the price growth above by holding assets, you capture these tailwinds while exposing yourself to market risk - macro risk, sector risk, founder risk etc by selling when risk is pronounced, you internalize that risk downside this war too shall pass, spot and chill

a different way this could go down: - a 20% productivity increase mostly shows up as a four day work week since its massively difficult to automate 100% of a job - deflation (not disinflation) drives real prices down in healthcare and education, as administrative work gets automated at scale - people that are wildly ambitious have more tools than ever and set their sights on the stars and the skies .. the new new world awaits - others who want a soft cozy european lifestyle can afford it with cheap healthcare, abundant educational opportunities, and a job that’s both more fun and less hours the biggest blackpill is that the single most important problem - housing - it’s entirely dependent on human coordination and policy tradeoffs, and even infinite free intelligence won’t convince the NIMBYs to do the obviously right thing..
