Any particular reason why a 240 ton Airbus A330 with 400+ passengers had to immediately bank north & fly 4,000ft over Ashbourne at 4pm? Plenty of empty fields around us & routes that’d only disturb livestock, solar farms & tillage @AerLingus @DublinAirport @meathcoco @Fingalcoco

@GerryMcBride Years ago people would go to a film like that purely to see the trailer for a bigger film that was ahead of it, apparently there’s a (shit) Avengers Doomsday one with Avatar 3

So help me, I've booked a ticked for Avatar 3. I remember fuck all about the second one other than the really mental stuff (which in fairness it has a good amount of). I'm going on Monday at 9am and if nothing else I'm going to eat popcorn for breakfast in a big chair.

@Saltmine1000 I’ve always said ATM, “cash machine” sounded British and “hole-in-the-wall” is what an oul one would call it. Never heard “bank machine” tbh

OK so Irish and English friends. Do you use " bank machine", "hole in the wall ", or " ATM " to describe the machine that dispenses money when you insert your bank card and enter your pin? I'm Irish, I called it an ATM the other day at work and the lads said " OK, Ms. USA " 🤣

@DaraghCassidy I’ve kept an eye on the news since the announced it a year ago, it was supposed to be last September. They’ve been so quiet about it, still no update today but maybe they will after that email

👏Great to see confirmation today that the new Dublin City Zone ticket will come into force in June. 🎟️I use the annual bus, DART, rail and Luas ticket. When I started work 6 years ago it cost me €1,950 a year. It'll now cost €960. Fair play to @greenparty_ie for doing this.

@peanutsgran God love ya, it’s ‘Mom’ in Kerry, parts of Cork and Limerick and other parts of Ireland. While I’m at it, people in Ireland (yes even the Republic) call 26 December ‘Boxing Day’ too. Just because YOU haven’t experienced this in Ireland doesn’t mean it’s not true.

It's Mam, Mammy or Mum in some parts .... Not & I repeat Not MOM! We are fucking Irish! Not candy but sweets, not trash but rubbish, not soda but lemonade, juice or pop in some parts. This shit is really starting to bug the fuck out of me!

@ashdabash3 @CLETUSVANDAM12 @ProfBrianCox @BBCNews New cars sold here from 1 Jan 05 had to have kph speedometer; any cars from before then usually had both mph and kph in a smaller inner circle. But kph speedometers tend not to have mph in a smaller inner circle (some do), luckily it’s less of an issue now with speedos on screens

@ProfBrianCox it's so frustrating watching Brian Cox's shows when he uses kilometres. The BBC doesn't even respect British people enough to at least put the MPH on the screen.Everyone in the uk measures distance in miles.Say kilometres all you want but show mph too..easy @BBCNews

@showsiff @CLETUSVANDAM12 @ProfBrianCox @BBCNews Ireland still has half the distances in miles and half in Km. it’s the only place I know you can drive towards somewhere and one second you are 5 whatever from there the next you are 7 whatever from there! Always amuses me
