Hi @austinenergy, pokes have been down on 38th street—a major thoroughfare — meaning no power for our neighborhood. Any estimates on when this will be fixed?

Hey, @CapMetroATX, absolutely love the new e-bike sharing program. Way to go! Need to do something on the charging though. Lots of bikes with low or no charge at stations. But thanks for launching this cool option!

Wind power sure is over-performing in Texas today — keeping prices low and the grid stable on a day with potentially record-setting electricity demand.

I was introduced to craft beer through Sierra Nevada and New Belgium in the early 2000s I think. Now there are a gazillion other options. Am I basic for still drinking them on occasion?

If you love Texas music—hell, if you love music—and the people who make it, you need to see “Without Getting Killed or Caught.” Guy and Townes are in my personal pantheon and this film just floored me. @austinfilm #atx

@atx_markstover Nat'l lab study: “Given the rarity of negative pricing at most of these major trading hubs...it comes as little surprise that they have had almost no impact on average day-ahead prices and little impact on average real-time wholesale electricity prices at these specific hubs.”

In 2014, after reviewing “compelling” data, FERC Commissioner John Norris said negative pricing arguments were “a distraction and not productive to the larger conversation.” As the ERCOT IMM has said, negative prices “are not a problem.”

An examination of price data showed that negative prices accounted for 0.64% of ERCOT-wide average market prices in 2015. As a result, negative prices reduced average ERCOT power prices from $26.38/MWh to $26.26/MWh, a decrease of $0.12/MWh, less than one half of 1% #txenergy

Researching #TXLege proposals to change the ancillary services market solely to harm #renewables (and investors, and consumers, and rural communities and schools)? Bad language in SB1278, HB4466, Sec. 13 of SB3. Panos’ analysis of why the proposals are flawed is superb.
Panayiotis (Panos) Moutis@PMoutis

🧵From a technology perspective this must be the most dubious & unfair means to handle the volatility of #renewables, i.e. #wind & #photovoltaics (PV) in an #electrical #grid & #restructured #electricity #market❗️ #energytwitter #energy -1/n

In Floyd Co, TX, wind farms are 6 of the Top 10 taxpayers, including Apex’s Old Settler Wind Farm. Chapter 312 brings large investments to rural TX, creating new tax revenue + landowner payments. HB 3143 will ensure rural TX continues to see $ from wind/solar. #txsenate #txlege
