Hi @ACTFibernet, I have reported unusable download speeds on my 300Mbps connection for the past day and this issue is yet to be resolved. The technician checked everything on my end yesterday and said it is a "server issue". Please resolve this at the earliest.

A thread concerning Napoleon Bonaparte's famed traveling libraries. Napoleon was a voracious, gargantuan, wide-ranging, and constant reader. Although a great lover of books for their own sake, he read because he needed books. They provided innumerable insights into politics, law, governance, culture, and war. As a general and later ruler, books were not just a distraction, but a vital tool of power and governance. As such, his reign saw the creation and composition of vast palatial libraries which dotted his many residences. Everywhere he went, he required vast literary resources to draw upon in his many duties. This is the man, after all, who initiated the composition of the Code Napoleon; who directed his armies in person; and who strove to govern according to historical precedence. This need for books started in his youth, as a young officer and later general. His brother Joseph remarked that during his travels to and from Corsica, the box containing Napoleon’s traveling library was larger “than the one containing his toiletries.” As such, during his first campaigns, he collected books himself and haphazardly stored them in large chests. Sometimes, a lone secretary would help - other times, he was alone, requesting books from the archives or scouring public libraries for needed information. When he ascended to power, Napoleon suddenly benefited from the vast administrative and fiscal resources of France. As such, his traveling libraries could now be systematized, well-funded, and handled by a large staff. Given his insatiable need for books, and the fact that Napoleon was at war for over half of his reign, the transportation of books on campaign soon became a matter of national security. Eventually, Napoleon’s traveling libraries became fully- functioning travel cabinets, combined with a campaign bed, cartographic desks, libraries, and storage chests. This equipment, carried along by the army’s baggage train and hastily set up where Napoleon spent the night, has been described as being a “rolling house.” The books as well as the furniture, bound and bought for the purpose, were specially numbered, so the aides knew exactly how to organize the equipment once a spot had been found. Likewise, the numbering of the books allowed Napoleon to reach for whatever he needed without having to sift through dozens of volumes. In 1806 two of the first imperial libraries were delivered for the purpose. Made of mahogany, these were essentially travel-sized chests that contained pocket-sized books. The 1806 iteration contained novels such as Frances Burney’s Evelina, Paul et Virginie, and Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels; Poems, including those of Ovid; as well as the classics of ancient history Napoleon was accustomed to reading. In essence, Napoleon insisted that his libraries all contain the same three categories of books. One, books relevant to his current campaign and travels. These included travel books, tracts on topography and geography, as well as military histories and statistics for the concerned area. Second, books that he had always read and loved. Those included, amongst many others, ancient classics such as Plutarch’s Lives; novels such as Paul et Virginie and later Goethe’s Sorrows of Young Werther; and philosophy, such as Montaigne and Rousseau and some plays. And third, new books or novelties that Napoleon had not read and that he trusted Barbier - his personal librarian - to recommend. These varied widely and were often the subject of Napoleon’s complaints. In July of 1807, he dictated to Méneval precisely what he desired: One thousand travel-sized volumes, of which “40 volumes of religion, 40 epics, 40 plays, 60 of poetry, 100 novels, 60 histories - the surplus, to reach one thousand would be historical memoirs of all time eras.” Another traveling library of similar size to this one would be made up entirely of natural history, travel books, and literature. Napoleon composed different libraries for each new campaign. As usual, they counted dozens of works on the geography, landscape, and populations of the theaters he would be traveling or fighting through. He also brought along histories of wars previously fought in them. As such, before the Prussian campaign of 1806—in great secrecy— Napoleon received four books on the campaigns of Frederick II; three books on the Seven Years Wars (known as the French and Indian War in the United States); a history of the Hungarian War; the Description de tous les peuples soumis a la domination bienfaisante d’Alexandre 1er; the Instructions Secrètes et Stratégiques de Frédéric II; and the Guide Des Voyageurs En Europe from Heinrich Reichard. The Paris librarians and the imperial bibliographical staff needed to remain absolutely discreet about Napoleon’s readings. A clever observer, noticing the sudden uptick of books acquired by the Crown on a particular region would essentially know where French armies were headed next. Books, under the First French Empire, were matters of national security. With this, he had compiled a mass of information on the Prussian army, its history, its geography, and its people. In many ways, Napoleon accumulated in his mind more information than his opponents acquired through their military intelligence services! These readings gave him immeasurable advantages in his campaigns. To learn more about Napoleon, his readings, or the libraries he compiled for his other campaigns, purchase a copy of my book, available below. pen-and-sword.co.uk/Napoleons-Libr…

Galaxy Buds2 Pros new vs. after 8 months of minimal usage. @SamsungMobile @SamsungIndia you really should be using more durable materials for your flagship products. Or at least provide replacements under warranty if it's a manufacturing issue.
