Forge of the Fae is looking like another impressive 2D retro-inspired #RPG! Animating those lovely pixel graphics take time, and the game will be arriving in the not-too-distant year of 2026.🔥

@darklyn_pixel gorgeous!
you could also add tiny easter egg animations that only rarely appear, like that statue throwin' some feed to the chickens for like 3 frames every 10 mins or so 🐔
Maybe finished Town Hall sprite. There's some things I want to eventually do like animate the chickens in the courtyard, but this will probably suffice for the demo I'm currently working towards. #pixelart
@memeslich background: middle management at an insurance guild, but he likes to work on his ox cart on the weekends. Also has 8 pairs of different tan loafers for some reason. Regrets to not have invested in potion glass bottles 25 years ago.
@dotagegame I think there are genre conventions that you can choose to "disobey" if you deliver on the other necessary ingredients.
RL typically means easy in & out with multiple runs per session, but the meta progression is the core feature & dotAGE is burstin' with that shit, so yeah...
An interesting doubt! Do you think that "short run length" is necessary for a game to be a roguelite?
I obviously don't (if you play dotAGE you'd know), and actually think that longer runs make for even more tense games!
(yeah I do play Ironman only Xcom, why?)
being a Content Creator requires a lot of mental strength
it’s why so many small ones quit
- Streaming to 0 viewers is hard as fk
- Spending hours on videos no one sees is demotivating
- Getting no comments sucks
it’s easy to be consistent when views up, everything is Green, life is good
but it’s hard as fk when u dont know if the hard work you’re doing will ever pay off
@JazzLikesToGame I just cut a minute of review video footage of trash talking AAA companies and only left in my praise and love for indie games. so yeah ^^
