13 जुलाई 2020 को उनका शव गांव के पास फंदे से लटका मिला।
शव जिस स्थिति में था पहले उनकी हत्या की गई और फिर उन्हें फांसी पर लटकाया गया।
देवेंद्र नाथ दलित थे और उनका अपराध था कि वह भाजपा में शामिल हो गए थे, तो उनकी TMC के गुंडों ने हत्या कर दी, सोचो एक विधायक सुरक्षित नही था पश्चिम बंगाल में और वही लोग 2-4 थप्पड़ और अंडों पर रो रहे है।
विरोध करने वाले पहले अपने गिरेबान में झाँके और खुले मंच पर आकर बहस करे कि पश्चिम बंगाल के किस लोकतंत्र और शासन का विरोध कर रहे है..!
