Love this. I was diagnosed at 32 after years of mental health struggles, particularly in times of pressure and stress - education milestones, starting new jobs or new relationships are all triggers. I am learning to cope, but it's not easy and the support isn't funded properly.

@KTLGoldfinch @touretteshero I do find Gabor Mate quite helpful, although his links to ADHD and addiction are quite male focussed, I think. I’ve found it really hard to find recourses that help me and I was diagnosed at 32, just before lockdown! Kings college are also publishing some interesting work x

This. Also I wrote to Gove months ago citing how rape victims were living in unsafe unregulated housing along with men where they are exploited and terrified. He hasn't replied so you get the gist of how much they care about victims of sexual violence.

On the Savile thing - the 2 questions we should be asking Gove/Raab et al is “do you think it’s ok to repeat far right conspiracy theories in the Commons?” And 2: do you think it’s ok to weaponise victims of sexual abuse to score political points?”

My mum, a local govt. children’s services worker - who works full time and then some (on call for vulnerable families) can’t afford to live on her salary. After rent and bills she can’t even break even. THIS is how people get trapped in poverty.

@itsginajones Absolutely. I’m offended by the whole Diwali episode. Carrie not knowing what Diwali is despite living in one of the most multicultural cities in the world. Then explaining it! This shouldn’t be a lesson in everything non white-cis-mainstream, their core audience isn’t stupid
