Worst Shot of the Championship choice of all time.
Looked great @nr147 but come on mate.....Allen's snooker???

@riversidefc2019 @DHucks6 Because there’s more to life than football? 🤷🤦♂️
English

@DHucks6 Genuinely curious, why do this for Norwich and not your other clubs? I get Newcastle as no one likes them 😂
English

Loads but made the choice not to play against Norwich 💪🏼

@DHucks6 Did you not have any offers in England?
English

@RobJF24 No. Win or lose the most striking thing from this final is seeing Murphy’s limitations
English

Shaun Murphy will unquestionably be an all-time great if he wins today, right?

@snookerworld146 Agree with the top 5 more or less. Hendry a clear No.1. Perry the one I’ve been most impressed with recently and who can challenge those positions, especially Davis. Foulds & Hendon are a great loss to most viewers who understandably don’t have TNT
English

Done this top ten comms list for five years now. never had a doubt who’s number one. The world’s are always great but snooker on the teely is simply not the same without JV #Snooker
1. Hendry
2. Foulds
3. Davis
4. Doherty
5. Hendon
6. Dale
7. Perry
8. Hallworth
9. JJ

@TAFKASB But even more staggering has been how poor Murphy is at trying to get them - again not decent amateur standard. Maybe shown why he hasn’t won more and why he always advocates for frames ending when a player needs snookers! 🤦♂️
English

@PeterDavidKirby At the event, yes, as you’re actually watching the live action than a TV. I’d find it hard to choose between for TV viewing, but darts normally edges it
English

@goodbadftblpod Could’ve sat there for 3 weeks but didn’t come back after the interval when he could have stayed & watched the other game! Although have to say felt a bit sorry for him the way he was bombarded by people wanting selfies the second he got out of the arena
English

@ILoveSnooker_ His safety play is the thing which sets him apart from all other Chinese players and the reason he wins tournaments and is now in the games elite
English

@RobJF24 Very well said. I concur on all points, do not understand any criticism of the guy when he is so passionate, enthusiastic and good at what he does. How can adding more enjoyment to the spectator experience be a bad thing?
English

Rob Walker coming under a fair bit of criticism of late, one reason of which is for being too OTT, which is ironic because a lot of the dislike towards him is very OTT, in my opinion.
His style is not going to be everyone's cup of tea, sure, and it would probably get irritating if it were for every tournament, but I think his bombastic intros are perfect for the biggest events like this one, even if they do sometimes extend into relative absurdity for whatever reason. It's well documented that he does communicate with the players regarding what they're happy with, so I don't think he's crossing any lines or such, really.
I also feel in the minority for enjoying his commentary, but I think it's a testament to his enthusiasm for the sport that he's embracing a multitude of roles, and it can't be an insignificant amount of work he has to put in. Obviously, MC duties are Walker's mainstay, but I find his energy very infectious regardless of his position, and that's a huge positive for me.
(Always been a super nice guy whenever I see him as well despite seemingly being in a perpetual state of rushing from one place to another 😂)

Week 1 at the crucible done. Watched some super #snooker over 10 sessions, joined by some great mates for some of them. Also cool to have time to explore the fine city of #sheffield properly. 4 rows back for Ronnie was a bit special 👌Back for a semi-final session in a week.

English

Cracking day in Sheffield. Saw two great sessions of snooker @crucibletheatre bumped into a legend, and visited the best real ale pub in the region

English

@GFoxyFowler Yes I thought that too. I was there to see it live and it’s the subject of my favourite quiz question
English

@Nick_Metcalfe Don't understand how it keeps happening that some tables/pockets are more generous than others in pro tournaments? Surely they all use the same template, dimensions, measurements whatever?
English

@Snooker147Lover @WeAreWST Yep & as always commentators continually go on about high tight the pockets are. From the naked eye first view on Saturday you could see they were generous. It’s my ongoing bug bear that they can’t set up tables for all tournaments to a template where they are all the same size
English

Come on @WeAreWST... This is THE FUCKING #WORLDCHAMPIONSHIP!! It's for the best players. It can't be easy, the game should be difficult.
And they've made those bloody buckets.🤦♂️
Of course we'll still try to enjoy the event, but it's not right at all. Really disappointing.😮💨
English

@RobJF24 It’s funny but the more I come & the longer I stay I increasingly think best value is the £60 odd tickets because you are relatively so close & have a great view anywhere as the theatre is so small. I always have some premium seats but am questioning even those until the upgrade

A few thoughts on Legends Walk 👇
- The view was generally excellent from where we were situated. Intimately close, although the foreseen potential of camera folk being in the way definitely came to fruition. And we were even occasionally a little bit blocked by the people on the solitary row in front. Not a massive issue for us, but I can see it really getting some people's backs up.
- Security and other production and camera personnel basically breathing down your neck the whole time due to their close proximity. All lovely folk, but you really feel the tight constrictions of the space they're working with. Felt very much 'squeezed in'.
- Due to the afternoon session running on late, we were kind of herded about like cattle from one bit to another in a rush. Obviously, these things happen, but it was a tad farcical. Dennis Taylor turned up briefly shortly before play, which was awesome, and he was a real gentlemen, but I'm sure some people missed out due to the misfortune of not being in their seats at the right time. Communication could've probably been a bit better, but I understand time was extremely short and this is all a new thing.
- The goodies are a nice perk, the commemorative coin especially, being something new for me. Could've done with a cool bag in which to carry them all, though. You don't want your programme to ultimately end up at the mercy of a wet table at the Grad.
- I was surprised the vast majority of folk on our table didn't stick around for the divider to come up. Considering the amount you're paying, I'd have thought you'd surely want as much bang for your buck as humanly possible.
Bottom line—not really worth the price tag for me—as expected, really—but it was highly enjoyable as a one-off and made my partner's first time there a better and more interesting experience. And getting the amount of frames we did certainly helped!
