What's actually bringing agencies new clients right now? Cold outreach is getting harder. LinkedIn inquiries don't come in as often. AI slop is everywhere. The agencies I see growing in 2026 are leaning hard on two things: local SEO and referral partnerships.

Google Analytics just made AI traffic official. GA4 will now separately track traffic coming from AI assistants like @ChatGPTapp , @GeminiApp , and @claudeai . That’s a much bigger shift than most marketers realise. Because AI search is no longer “emerging.” It’s now a measurable discovery channel. The next era of marketing won’t just be about: “How much traffic did we get?” But: “Was our brand recommended by AI in the first place?” Google Analytics will show you the clicks. @Hobo_Web Totally agree, at DareAISearch we say 35% of activities required for GEO is same as SEO but this 35% is actually the base, without it the rest of 65% has no value.

Without SEO, there is no GEO. Take away SEO fundamentals from “GEO”, there is no “GEO”. AEO targets answer engines… through SEO. Comments welcome.

Really worried how Instagram pages / ad accounts etc can get banned on meta now. If this is related to using automated services then at our scale, there is absolutely no way to not use AI services for replying to queries.
