@CathyMarston Absolutely appalling. One of the things that makes my blood boil. That family should try doing all their own housework while looking after 3 kids and see how "happy" they'd be getting almost no money.

My cleaner went for a job interview on Tues. Huge house, 3 kids to mind & they offered her R180 a day. She turned it down despite really needing more work. Takes a lot of gall to live in a house like that, to have so much, ask so much & to offer so little in return.

@KyleLikesWine Haha, not to forget that it's like going back to the 70s. Except for the excellent fibre connectivity. It is an odd place - that's why I like it. Quiet area, cheap houses right by the beach. Every house looks completely different to its neighbour. Close to winefarms and the N2 :)

@silhurst The sea is shallow and usually quite brown/ green & it comes right up to the road. The neighbourhood 1 row back is old & small humble homes contrast with modern tall buildings on beach front. Also an atmosphere of urban blight about the place. It feels stark & abandoned

@CathyMarston They get strange cravings... You can offer her some broccoli, carrots and peas every now and then, it's good for her and she may enjoy the crunch. I had a cat who stole absolutely any food if she was given half a chance. Just keep an eye on those kidneys.

@YourDailyVegan I lost my little girl kitty last year during lockdown and I wasn't sure if I'd lost a sister, a friend or a child, because it felt like all three. Pets are family ❤

His death sent me into a spiral. I fell head-first into a very dark place after he died. And that's where I've been for the past few months. Sad. Grieving. Unhappy. I'm working through it. Or, trying to.

TW: Depression & Death It's been three months today since Mister left the sanctuary in the early morning for an MRI. I didn't know when he left that I'd never see his sweet, smooshy face ever again. Every day since then I've grieved—deeply, viscerally. I want to talk about it.
