The UCP recklessly killed the programs that were diversifying our economy. They gambled on one industry — and no new jobs .
The @albertaNDP will restore smart tax incentives to make Alberta competitive again for innovation investment — and bring predictability to our economy.
Albertans want a responsible, thoughtful, back-to-basics government. The @albertandp is proud to accept the fiscal recommendations of former Alberta Treasury Branch Chief Economist, and my friend, @theToddHirsch. The Alberta NDP will smooth the volatile revenue rollercoaster.
We've been stuck on 17 polls counted in #ldnont for awhile here (he says, noting other cities in the province are counting much faster)
Results are there if you want to refresh for yourself.

Advanced poll totals are in and Josh Morgan is up big.
@FlairAirlines your check in program screws up consistently. EVERY TIME I am missing a boarding pass. Fix it and stop telling me to clear my cache and try a different device #neverflyflair
@DontVoteSplit@timabray I was surprised to find that masks were required at polling stations. They also were encouraging distancing. And they were disinfecting ballot markets.
@timabray I’d add that the role of Elections Ontario needs to be examined - lack of advertising, no presence, number of poll stations, the tech problems
Also I know we agree the pandemic is not over. I used a mail-in ballot which took organizing. The polling stations were not safe for me
Okay, Ontario. We need to talk about voter turnout. And we need to talk about the role of campaign strategy, constant polling, and horse race/infotainment journalism. Fewer than half of eligible voters showed up. And that is neither normal nor good enough. Spicy 🧵 alert. /1
City needs more electric vehicle chargers and electric buses, Don Millar said.
"The main flaw of the plan is that it relies on encouraging people to take action, rather than requiring it," Kate Easton said.
@SareEmm we moved from #yyc to #ldnont last year and have found it generally more expensive for rent, insurance, gasoline, access to parks and CAs. Utility bills and income tax are lower though! (but then there's that pesky PST). Please change AB gov before you leave :)
@GiaAnnJohns@SCold1997@SareEmm If you're on a floating rate for natural gas, the price will be similar in Ontario. Electricity is currently slightly cheaper in Ontario because they're mostly nuclear and we are mostly gas-fired (thanks to shutting down/converting most coal plants).
New article on public support for energy transition with @MelaneeLThomas, @BDeCillia & Lori Thorlakson. We find majority of Albertans support transition away from fossil fuels / towards renewable energy.

@dinnerwithjulie it's time to invest in a serious energy retrofit. We all live in poorly built homes. See how much better it could be at passivehousealberta.com

-why you have to get all this information, which we consider to be crucial (which is why we do this!), from a volunteer-run Twitter account
-when we won't need to be doing this any more
