I’ve wanted to go to Highclere Castle since I was a child; I think it’s now possible to visit without feeling the need to stage whisper ‘I’m here for the Egyptology, not the Downton Abbey’ all the time bbc.co.uk/newsround/6349…

Death metal is very much not my genre. (Pseudo-) Irish folk is very much not my genre. I won’t say Dutch death-metal-pseudo-Irish-folk fusion *is* my genre, but add a hurdy-gurdy to it and it at least becomes an effective and intriguing ear cleaner. music.amazon.co.uk/artists/B001E3…

@priddy I’ve always wanted to go to one of the Breton folk festivals in Brittany with my bombarde, but what with one thing and another never got around to it. The nearest I’ve got is a weekend event at Burnley Mechanics about 25 years ago I went to with my parents.

@priddy It’d be rude for there not to be. (The ensemble in question I’ve discovered because a German hurdy-gurdy player I follow on Facebook has just joined them)

@DC_Breslin @RachelTobac @OSINTtechniques You’ve kind of missed the point of what she’s saying there. She’s not saying paying for things online is dangerous, she’s saying making it so all a Bad Guy needs to gain access to accounts is pay $8 to look like a legit customer support channel is dangerous.

No identity verification, & 8 bucks for a verified account? Get ready for the new cyber criminal playbook: use stolen credit card to buy verified Twitter account, impersonate real customer support channels, trick users into handing over account details in DM, account takeover.

@iskandarv Our usual annual average for import is about 3% — but what I don’t know is whether it always goes up much higher overnight in autumn

So, the next time someone thinks they're being smart by telling you they "should have stayed in France"... here's the @JCWI_UK 5-step guide to responding, which doesn't involve pointing out how deeply they are lacking in either humanity or imagination...

@apmbsd They were never my genre but I do remember once at 2am a concert film coming on telly and the group of us suddenly stopping chatting to pay attention because of the kicking backing band and it gradually dawning on us it was Bros

Finally getting round to seeing that Bros movie from Billy Eichner that y’all were hating on recently. I was a big fan of the band back in the day so it’ll be interesting to see how that translates to the big screen…
