Läste om datacenters spillvärme, möjlighet till fjärrvärme i DI. Räknade lite på detta, att förse en norrländsk stad med ett stort datacenter: Datacenter är i praktiken gigantiska värmeverk. Umeå har ett vinterbehov på ca 250–300 MW fjärrvärme. Ett 200 MW‑datacenter kan värma hela Umeå. Tekniken finns, värmepumparna finns, fjärrvärmenätet finns. Frågan är inte om spillvärme kan värma norrländska städer – utan varför vi inte redan bygger datacenter som ersätter fossila spetslastverk.

@user9361 @akafaceUS Photon count is just marketing for a raw bitstream. They apply hdr processing conceptually similar to what iPhone has. I’m a photographer since many years.

@simonwesterlund @akafaceUS No, we see a third version, one that isn't illustrated here. Photon count is not going to get confused by light and dark changes. The quality of the reflection from the headlights are less important.
