I once followed my friend to visit her man at a hotel. I kept saying we should leave, but babe was having the time of her life. It got really late, so we ended up staying over. I went to sleep on the one-seater, but both of them insisted I use the bed since it was a queen size. In the middle of the night, I suddenly felt a hand on my chest. I opened my eyes and these two penguins were seriously knacking beside me. I removed his hand, thinking maybe it was a mistake, then shifted closer to the edge and turned my back. Next thing, I kept hearing movement and when I glanced back, this man’s hand was roaming around like it was searching for me. I kept adjusting little by little until I finally fell off the bed. That was how I carried myself to the bathroom, locked the door, entered the bathtub and slept there instead. Funny enough, that place was warmer and comfortable. Till today, I never told her anything. But the next morning was awkward as hell. One thing I told myself after that night: never again will I follow that girl anywhere.

What’s the most terrifying/unexplainable experience you’ve ever had at a hotel?

Dangote himself confirmed it. September 2026. Not June. Not July. September. $50 billion valuation. 10% equity on offer. Dollar dividends. My war chest has been sitting in Cowrywise Money Market since April, earning 16.57% p.a. while I wait. Liquid. Ready. Patient. The IPO will come. The question is, will you be ready when it does? My husband earns around 800k every month. Out of that, he gives me 200k for feeding and running the house, 60k for the children’s school needs, and another 100k for light bills, medicine, and little unexpected expenses. In total, about 360k comes into the home monthly, while he keeps the rest. Recently, I became curious about our finances and asked him how much he had saved over the years, but he avoided the conversation. Later, I checked and discovered he had about 14M saved. Honestly, after more than three years of work and all the sacrifices we’ve made as a family, I expected it to be much more. What confused me most is that my husband is not someone who spends recklessly. He eats at home most of the time, only buys lunch occasionally at work, and aside from helping family members once in a while and paying the children’s school fees, there’s nothing extravagant he does. When I asked him calmly to explain how the savings were only 14M, the conversation turned into an argument. Instead of answering me, he started bringing up my own salary and asking whether he had ever questioned the money in my account. Since then, the house has been tense and silent. This morning, he even said if I’m unhappy, I’m free to leave the marriage because he will never discuss his money with me. Now I’m honestly confused. Is it wrong for a wife to want transparency about the future of her family? Or did I overstep boundaries by checking his account and questioning his savings?

@AlfaAdam001 The market is always right. There are times fundamentals look good but the stock performance is poor. If markets were that predictable everyone would have been a billionaire on the stock market. Unfortunately some investors are there 2 loose and other 2 win

My colleague bought ARADEL at ₦400 per share and turned ₦400,000 into ₦1,436,000 in just a few months. I bought much higher at ₦1,190 per share — and I never felt late or cheated. Today, ARADEL trades around ₦1,836 per share and still shows room for potential growth in the future. Lesson? The stock market doesn’t reward “early vs late” it rewards quality and patience. If the business is strong, it can still create wealth at different entry points. You’re not late if the company’s numbers remain solid and fundamentals prove its share price.

@WealthWithPro A kind of mix of passive (ETF) and active management (stock picking). It will be good to compare your NGX portfolio with the NGX 30 index.

That's the real tension. My solution was to separate the platforms by purpose, NGX for active thesis-driven positions, US exposure through index funds so I don't have to track 36 individual companies. Concentration on what you understand deeply, broad exposure elsewhere through funds. Trying to actively follow 36 stocks will burn you out.

How I review my portfolio every month: Check each position — is the original thesis still valid? Look at the order book — are real buyers showing up? Upcoming catalysts? Dividends, AGMs, results dates Compare vs the index — am I earning my risk? Decide: add, hold, or exit

@WealthWithPro This is just on the NG Market. What about those who have also invested in US Stocks. 36 companies to follow up. It is like a full time job. Investment is not easy.

Personally I think 10–15 positions is the sweet spot. Enough to be diversified, few enough that you can actually follow each one properly. I run 18 across two platforms right now and it's manageable, but I know every position, the thesis behind it, and what would make me exit. Once you can't answer those three questions for a stock, it probably shouldn't be in the portfolio.

@Highteaspeaks Concentration increase the risk. In some countries, it is more profitable to invest in Indexes ETF rather than doing the stock picking. You never know what would happen. Uba has been paying dividends non stop but this year they have decided otherwise imagine your position was 50%

My NGX portfolio is still under ₦8M with about 7 instruments cooling inside it. But I realized something a few days ago, I’ve been spreading myself too thin. If I had concentrated that capital into just one or two strong convictions like MTN, GTCO, DANGCEM, ZENITH and other blue chips, my portfolio would probably be up over 70% by now. Diversification protects wealth, yes… but concentration is what really builds it when you know what you’re doing. I’m still learning, adjusting and gathering experience. The game is the game 🤓

@WealthWithPro I can't blame people selling. Apparently the company might not resume with dividends before 2027. A dividend is the real income realized that can go into your pocket. Capital gain remains virtual until you sell. Remember that a share can go to zero.

ACCESSCORP no pay dividend this year and people wan sell their shares 😂 Meanwhile read this: ✅ Profit Before Tax — ₦1.01 trillion. First time EVER in their history ✅ Gross earnings up 13.3% ✅ Cost-to-income ratio improved to 51.7% ✅ Capital adequacy remained robust The dividend pause is a CBN regulatory constraint not poor performance. They've confirmed dividends resume once approvals are secured. The market is selling a record-breaking company at a discount because people are reading headlines instead of balance sheets. I hold 3,740 units. Adding more tomorrow. Sometimes the market gifts you a discount on a record-breaking business. You collect am or you watch.
