My wife was formerly promiscuous. I was a virgin. She was then radically born-again. Committed to church, evangelized constantly, Puritan books in her bedroom, prayer journals, grief over past sexual sin, etc. We got to know each other well for over a year, dated for four months, engaged for two and a half, and didn't sin sexually with one another. Our first kiss with each other was at the altar on our wedding day (reaction pic attached!). We've been married for over five years now, and she's been the most wonderful and godly wife, mother to our three children, and homemaker you could imagine. She's more pure than most virgins, as biblical purity has less to with past sins (though they certainly matter) and more to do with one's current posture of the heart and daily decisions to honor the Lord (Matt. 5:8). We're far too quick to forget the story of the woman labeled as a known "sinner" (likely a prostitute) in Luke 7:36-50 who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears while kissing them too. The Pharisees were shocked that Jesus let a public sinner do this. Jesus responded with a parable about debts being forgiven and ended with this powerful conclusion: "Her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little" (Luke 7:47). Everyone seems to highlight the benefits of virginity, and it certainly is a blessing. But we forget to highlight the benefits of being forgiven much as well. My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior. A woman or man's past sexual sin matters. But what matters far more when it comes to deciding who to marry is if the person is truly born again, if their repentance is real, if they truly have a heart for Christ, if they truly follow Jesus and obey his commands. "God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world — what is viewed as nothing — to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one may boast in his presence. It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, — in order that, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:27-31) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)

If someone argues that a former promiscuous woman is "damaged goods" and questions whether a Christian young man should marry her, remember Rahab. She was a Canaanite prostitute but became a mother in the lineage of Jesus. God redeemed her, cleansed her, and Salmon married her.

@conservmillen @TrevorSheatz Yes, God has done His work on her heart. But she is not the same, never mind somehow purer, than someone who has stayed the course, exercised self-control, and waited on the Lord. And if she is, then tell me Allie, what is the point of doing it the right, biblical way?

President Trump says he was "just having fun" when he previously said he won't make it to Heaven: "I was just having fun. I really think I probably should make it. I'm not a perfect candidate, but I did a hell of a lot of good for perfect people."

@alisa_childers their goals but come to Christ. God put me here for a specific reason, and I don't think it's just to win medals. At the end of the day, I'm in this sport to glorify God, so if that means I come in last place or I win the gold medal, that's what I'm going to do." (cont)

When Jeff and Cat Leopard learned their daughter Adelyne had Trisomy 18, they were told she was “incompatible with life,” pressured to get an abortion, and given a countdown on a calendar. Instead, they chose life. Here is their powerful story.

My dear Wormwood, Great idea. Redefine words and divide Christians against one another. If everything is seen through the lens of race, they will start believing they are nothing more than the oppressed or the oppressor. This will distract them from realizing they are sinners in need of redemption. Best of all, have their own pastors say it. Delightful work. Your Uncle, Screwtape

My dear Wormwood, One of the most important tactics to keep injustice present is convincing the humans that racism is strictly an overt act of discrimination by an individual. Don’t let them focus on the systemic nature of it. Keep up the good work. Your Uncle, Screwtape

@RobertAJGagnon1 As a "Bible Scholar" it behooves you to tell the truth. The White House's story changed three times today. First, Levitt doesn't deny Trump posted it and calls the outrage "fake". Then they said a staffer posted. Then Trump says he gave it to the staffer but didn't watch it all.

As an influential commentator, Russell Moore, it behooves you (despite your virulent hostility to Trump) to give more thought and less knee-jerk reaction. In addition to denials by Trump that he posted the video or had any prior knowledge of the Obama imagery, your claim that Trump was intentional in posting a video of the Obamas as apes just doesn't make any sense. Ask yourself: Given the fact that the depiction of the Obamas as apes--but two other Black politicians, Hakeem Jeffries and Kamala Harris, as a meerkat and tortoise respectively, with a White politician, Joe Biden, as a a banana-eating orangutan [another primate!] and Hillary Clinton as a warthog--appears after a minute-long unrelated video addressing the issue of 2020 election voter fraud and then only as the first second of a longer but unposted second video ... (1) Why would anyone put in one post two back-to-back videos so different from each other? If someone wanted to post two unrelated videos, the best way of doing that would be to post each separately. And (2) why post only one second of the second video? Someone who had no problem with a video of the Obamas as apes would have no problem recording the rest of the video. It doesn't make sense as an intentional act to add an unrelated one-second video of the Obama as apes to a one-minute election fraud video and then leave out the rest of the animal video rather than post the animal video whole and in a separate post. But it does make perfect sense as an unintentional act. This is clearly an instance of sloppy editing where a staffer apparently forgot to cut off the first second of the animal video that auto-played after the election video. Anyone who records videos from a source where another video is auto-played immediately after the target video is familiar with the phenomenon of not cutting off the second video in time. Don't you think that it is the better part of Christian charity to give the benefit of the doubt when there is plenty of doubt to be had? If Trump were actually pushing policies that were racist or putting people on the courts who were racist or appointing racist cabinet officers, that would be one thing. But nothing like that has happened. I hope that you will apologize publicly for your hasty and uncharitable interpretation. Not a good example and not the first time.
Russell Moore@drmoore

Racist. Deranged. Humiliating to our country. The fact that we have decided to pretend to this is normal every day is a moral abomination. Have we any shame? And every day an entire generation is being told it is “Christian” to support this. God have mercy on us.

Progressive Christians portray Jesus as an activist killed by the state, basically executed by Roman “ICE agents” who were just following orders. That’s not why Jesus died. Jesus gave up His life voluntarily. “No one takes my life from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.” - John 10:18 He had the authority to lay it down and the authority to take it up again. That command came from the Father. Progressives paint this weak, hippie Jesus but that isn’t who He was. Jesus is God.
