Why do people like git worktrees over discrete checkouts? (This isn't bait, it's research)

@MostlyTechPod My 2c - Some people will pay to not have annoying ads. Why not offer a simple no-advert version for a tiny monthly fee and see how it goes? Keep selling the sponsorships as well in new and funky ways that @aarondfrancis or @ianlandsman dream up :-)

@opdavies Not exactly, but the one causing the failures was very cut-down, something like this (I deleted it).

Just spent too much time chasing a 500 error that ended up being because of something in services.yml that had never been an issue before. Copy the default one in and fixed.. Sigh - #programmer life. #drupal

@aarondfrancis @steve_tenuto @xata Seeing this reminded me the sqlite early bird ends soon, and now I've gone and bought that. You got me with the FOMO! Loyalty discount for the postgres one, which I really need more? :-) Great job, keep up the excellent work.

📣 We're excited to announce Mastering Postgres, a video course coming October 15th. @steve_tenuto and I started this business with dreams to improve the quality of database education. With the help of @xata, this course is our next step in that direction.

@nmdmatt There was probably a constant slight worry as well, get that sucker out and move on. Gotta keep our 'machine' in good working order!

On Monday, I had a minor surgery to remove a lipoma that was on the back of my neck and causing some discomfort. Just got the pathology report. That sucker was 5.5 x 3.6 x 2.5 cm. Hopefully, bike riding will be much more enjoyable!

One of the coolest demos I saw at DrupalCon Portland was “Collaborating Editing in Drupal Core” from the @palantir folks. Think Google Docs-style collaboration on a node edit page. - in every field, no less! 2-minute video of the demo: youtube.com/watch?v=U9WkzT…

🚀 Today we've launched Functions on Cycle.io! This feature allows users to bring a Docker container to the platform and dynamically scale as events/tasks require. Think of this as like AWS Lambda, but on your own infra -- even if that's across multiple clouds.
Cycle.io@CyclePlatform

🚨 We're bringing the power and convenience of task-based container runners like AWS Fargate or GCP Cloud Functions to @CyclePlatform , where they integrate with your existing applications. Instances start and stop on demand as you send jobs their way. cycle.io/blog/2024/04/i…

Is it actually terrible though @AndrewWarner ? It pretty specifically targets the niche of people who will be interested in their content. To paraphase @ShaanVP ... There are Riches in the Niches Baby, Riches in the Niches.

My First Million is a great podcast with a terrible name. Use it as a model of how NOT to name your podcast. A good podcast name… …SHOULD: be broad and give you flexibility to change its topic …SHOULD NOT: lock you in Podcasts evolve based on their hosts’ interests, audience reactions, world events, etc. Good examples… …The Joe Rogan Experience - notice how it helped him evolve over the years? …All-In - they started talking business, added Covid news, layered politics, and soon they’ll launch a tequila …Huberman Lab…The Ben Shapiro Show…SmartLess…Pivot - all allow for topic evolution Bad examples… …My First Million - They started with interviews of founders’ early days. But we care more about the hosts than their guests. They grew so much, but the name limits them. When I recommend MFM to people, they think it’s about getting rich quickly. …Acquired - They started talking about acquisition stories, like Twitch, Waze, etc. Over time, they realized they were incredible at telling any deeply researched business story, but the title stayed the same. Terrible example… …Mixergy - My podcast name sucks. Yes, it’s broad, but it’s hard to remember. Most people think I’m saying “Mixergy Energy.” I did well despite the title because I was early in both the podcasting and startup scenes. If you don’t have a good title, go with… …A variation of your name: The Joe Rogan Experience, Lex Fridman Podcast, The Gordon Ramsey Show, etc. …Something super-flexible: Pivot, Club Random (with Bill Maher), Modern Wisdom, Now What (with Trevor Noah), Fresh Air, etc. Do you have other examples of good/bad podcast names?
