The #Bears have been lobbying for draft pick compensation following the hire of Ian Cunningham as #Falcons GM. Today, the NFL responded stating there will be no picks coming: “The matter is now closed following the club’s appeal. The NFL informed the Bears today they will not receive compensatory picks. The policy is designed to provide picks for the Primary Football Executive position. The League determined Mr. Cunningham did not fill that role with the Falcons as it is defined in League rules.”

@Ryanclary11 Imagine a lot of it is simply that there’s so many lefties in the mix, especially with Ruiz/Millas both being on the roster. Wood, Abrams, Lile, Garcia, Ruiz, Nunez all lefties (or switch) in the regular starting 9. Hassell would be pushing it to 7 lefties.

The more I think about the Dylan Crews decision, the more I wonder why Robert Hassell III isn’t starting on opening day.

@sinko47 @AaronLemingNFL 2/ Most Billionaire’s are as such based on the value of their assets. It doesn’t mean they can go down to the local bank open the vault & see all the cash sitting there like a cartoon. So signing multimillion dollars guarantees are a hinderance to some owners over others.

Talked about it a few days ago: Cap space & cash spending are two different things. #Bears ownership does not have the cash flow most other NFL owners do. With a Caleb Williams deal on the horizon & an expensive stadium, this shouldn’t come as a surprise.
