It's a tough job market right now for PMs. Counter to the conventional wisdom of the 2008-2020 ZIRP era, I think the key feature that PMs should be looking for in a role right now is actually writing code. Why? 1. Everyone recognizes one of the key bottlenecks in software creation is comms overhead from the product owner's brain to the developer's brain. You can iterate 100x faster when it is literally the same brain. 2. Barrier to creating software is now 10-100x lower. Conversely, devs should use productivity gains to think more with their "product hat" on.
