@BackwardsFeet I mean sure, but the distinction is between earnest protest and callous indifference is also at play here. His mannerisms don’t seem to be based on protest, and his standing negates most other reasons. I think both are in the wrong here personally.

@sitlausdeo Patriotism is a virtue, but patriotism also includes just criticism of country. And freedom of speech absolutely allows him to sit. Who even knows if he was sitting as an act of protest or some other reason.

@mrssockgoblin Yup! Usually they’re supposed to unpack boxes in the back but stocking the shelves would occur all day long when I worked at target. That was the job apart from talking to customers.

I thought the Odyssey movie was fine. There were valid criticisms, Nolan-isms, and progressive undertones but if you’re a Nolan fan that’s not new. Even dark knight has those if you’re paying attention. My upside to this is it reminded me to go reread the Iliad and the Odyssey.

Just left the odyssey. It was pretty good….. but kind of felt like a rip off of O Brother, Where Art Thou??????

@TheCatholicEngr I got an engineering role without a degree because my portfolio of project I’d worked on impressed the chief engineer more than a degree would. Albeit I’m lucky and this is not to say the degree wouldn’t have helped, but those side projects help.

@Catholic_George Nah, fam, I worked on AC units for years. We would install and then wouldn’t see that same unit again for another 7-10 years if the owner had problems. Further, since you’re in the UK you won’t have a central unit, so it’ll be even easier than what I dealt with.
