When I become President and before I leave, I will restructure Nigeria into a Confederacy. The 3 big Nations in it, the Yoruba Nation, the Igbo Nation, and the Arewa Nation will be 3 independent nations with their own laws fashioned according to their traditions and choice system of government. If the Yorubas want to revert to a monarchy and their sovereign leader the Oni of Ife, no problem - whatever system is compatible with the Yoruba people should be allowed to thrive. If the Igbos want to stick with their Democracy, no problem. And it will work because Democracy is the Igbo man's identity. The North can modify its unitary system and go full-blown Shariah if that works for them. Three confederated nations to make one country, each with 3 different systems of government, the same economic model, one military, all refining and developing their resources and having sovereignty over their minerals. With this, you have destroyed tribalism and destroyed traditional fracture. These 3 nations will have 3 leaders whose primary duties are to their people's needs. They have no international obligations except in times of war they can all step up to command the 3 layers of the military they independently control so if the President or Prime Minister is killed, defence can continue. The Prime Minister or President will emerge through a popular vote from any of the 3 regions, and their duties are international engagement and making foreign policies. This way the country has 4 solid layers of leadership. Each is not too powerful. Each is not too independent of the other to check and balance.
