The United States is about to field laser defense systems at a scale it has never attempted. The Army wants them on the ground and the Navy wants them on every ship. The Pentagon just put over $2 billion behind directed energy R&D. The country that invented the fiber laser doesn't manufacture enough of them to support its own programs. Production moved overseas, and the domestic suppliers who stayed can't keep up. Without more domestic supply, none of these programs ship. Build in America.
