Its truly hard to explain the concept and allure of rust to somebody who hasn’t played or watched videos of it. Sounds bizarre on paper but so is a lot of human psychology 😅

@Coma_Rust i do think bp fragments are too easy to come by for sure. also maybe making them non tradable on vending machines or atleast not via drones would slow down progression

So after playing deep sea a lot myself, here are some of my thoughts on it: Getting blueprint fragments feels almost pointless now with how easy it is to get airdrops, weapons, and just high-tier loot in general from military and elite crates on the ghost ships. It kind of ruins mainland-focused wipes, because people can just run deep sea instead and be fully set for the entire wipe. I really miss the hype of raiding players early game for fragments and loot, but now it just feels like there are way too many ways to get end-game loot right from the start. Blueprint fragments / high-tier loot have basically become too easy to get at this point something needs to change.

@wyaclever shield doesnt do anything unless in your hand. It being on my back wont do anything

@skierrust interesting because i watched you roam horse M2 in ur video and you got shot in the back hundreds of times and never took any damage ONLY because the shield was there . if that shield wasn’t on your back ur not winning all of those fights

This! I think part of what makes rust unique is the variety in pvp compared to other FPS games with bow/prim pvp, vehicle vs vehicles, horse/shields, ocean pvp - this is what makes rust GREAT! I can understand wanting tweaks here and there sure, but saying it should be gone completely isn’t right…

@wyaclever Yea but without it you would never need to tank those bullets as you can ADS and kill the players from further away long before they even get a chance to react. You could also then use much better weapons with more mag capacity

@skierrust uhhh ok bro i watched your shield eat all 20 bullets of a tommy last night at least 10 times, that shields hit box wins 80% of your fights for you lol

@wyaclever Shield takes more credit than it deserves with horse meta tbh. Even removing the item completely wouldn’t affect horse roaming much

@Michael19156978 I think them being OP is overstated but even if the meta is super strong why does that mean it should be reduced?

@skierrust Man I know you said horses are balanced but I can't think of a single damn way a solo would have 150kd on wipeday without roofcamping, I would venture to say thats a little broken (i know countering it isnt that hard and most of the enemies are bots but still)

@SerWinterGaming @reksmore I could agree that making shield non equippable on a horse while preserving its large hitbox on ground as a reasonable compromise

@reksmore @skierrust oh, nvm then. i think everyone is annoyed at horse and shield combo, ngl. people running shield on ground is no issue, really. people running horse with armour and shield and 3 slot armour with wood inserts is basically unkillable.

Everyone big angwy about shields. - They are super easy to shoot out and break. - You can avoid them by better positioning. - Hit headshots or legs. - Get good and adapt? Complaining about anything that works slightly against "pew pew i saw you first you're dead" is how we nerfed blowdarts to complete uselessness. I have no problems saying they need a mesh tweak, but just complaining about new things because you don't like them is how we end up with a game that stops trying to innovate. At least give feedback, offer suggestions. Help improve rather than cry for it to be removed or cry it's op.

@reksmore @SerWinterGaming I’d rather see more equally as rewarding playstyles that can be learnt and honed as a skill the way horse meta is, rather than reducing everything thats actually viable

@SerWinterGaming @skierrust I also think blowdarts were perfectly balanced and miss the spice they added to rust. If they were kept as is from launch i think barely anyone would use them still but theyd be super rewarding to use well
