Soon after the 2013 Supreme Court judgement arrogantly @OleItumbi and @moseskuria_MP confronted us to rub in their victory. We hardly knew these scabs at the time. @Gladwellotieno calmly told them "You will need us in future". This is that future.

3/ Human rights are supposed to be a pillar of the @UN system. They should not be considered an out-of-bounds “political” issue for staff. The UN should embrace staff using their free time to #StandUpForRights. Retweet if you support ending the ban on @UN staff protests.

2/ It seems @UN is conflating the right to protest & racial equality w/ political partisanship. This is a grotesque & dangerous distortion. If you take the approach to its logical end, any human rights issue could be off limits because it annoys states or their politicians.
