Good news just reported by @BORUSG: enrollment in our public universities grew by 5.9% this year, bucking national trends and reaching a new record of 364,725 students. At 53,363 students, @GeorgiaTech is now the largest in the state (4th in FTE)

@educator4ever36 @eduwonkette_jen I’ve had a great experience in two urban public school systems - Austin, TX and Atlanta, GA. 2 kids across 4 different neighborhood schools & 1 public charter. And no, as a single mom who was putting myself through college, I couldn’t afford to live in the top neighborhoods.

@eduwonkette_jen Back to the real reality, if you are forced into a public urban school district, the schools are on fire. Enjoy your wonderful white suburban public schools, but many don’t have that luxury and despite living within 5 miles to your schools, you don’t dare let in an urban kid. 🤦‍♂️
