@figma@_joelmllr On October 10th loyal users will get “The incompetence update”, formally known as “UI3”.
Hold yourselves high fellow designers. Tools come and go
@figma 4/ We’re increasing the number of actions that are shown for a layer and are exploring ways to make sure important ones like mask and boolean ops are visible when you need them.
As a Product Designer working on UI3 @Figma, I just want to say thanks for all of your feedback during our beta. We know some of you haven’t gotten UI3 yet, but it’s coming soon!
Here are some improvements we’re working on based on what we’ve heard 👇🏽🧵
As part of this Config update, we've made some quality-of-life improvements to auto layout!
1. Hold Ctrl to ignore auto layout and position items absolutely
Any time my son asks me if he may work with me I just say yes. He honestly enjoys @figma and easily spends an hour drawing race tracks.
Has been doing it since he was 3 y.o. and he knows how to use a pencil, text, plugins to get illustrations, drag, resize, rotate and duplicate.
ok so - the human eye can absolutely tell the difference in framerates beyond 60 Hz
can we please stop the "the eye can only see in 60 fps" nonsense now
@figma - per layer configurable timings & curves in interactions
- component level variables
- search function: include hidden layers
- library analytics being able to navigate to the instances
- FIX: component updates not propagating to hidden or nested instances (!)
DID YOU KNOW? 😨😱
👉 using DOCTYPE is TERRIBLE 🚨 for PERFORMANCE and SIZE!
😌 Instead use LOWERCASE, because it's smaller your page will LOAD MUCH FASTER
#react#javascript#webdev
Update: We've fully reinstated the component modal + playground!
Note: Please refresh your browser/app. For existing instances with images missing, try selecting them and use quick actions (Cmd or Ctrl + /) to trigger "repair component connections."
Thanks for your patience!
#4: A new component modal and playground ✨
Clicking on an asset opens up a modal showing more component details and links to the main library. Users on paid plans will also see larger interactive previews.

@joenatoli An eye for typography is a rare skill. I can imagine the majority easily overlooking issues and even the value of good typography. Continuing deduction from here. It’s probably because designers just want pick a font and move on doing the things they think is important. Examples?
Q: why do so many high-priced fashion design labels have such third-grade-generic-zero-kerning SHIT typography in their designs?
(I genuinely want to know)
