@slcvz Mock Leno is for sport coats. You can't use it for trousers because the material would be prone to snagging. Thus, they can't be used to make a suit. Tropical wool is good for suits, but very formal. Navy tonal seersucker is a casual suit that can be broken into separates.

If you use custom tailors, Loro Piana has a very nice navy tonal seersucker in their Mare fabric book. It's a whisper light 6/7oz cloth and made from wool-silk instead of cotton. I think it hangs better and has that bouncy feel of wool without wearing warm. Also less preppy.

@alecttrona Huaraches are fun, but may I introduce you to the Turkish “Yemeni” shoe? More comfortable than huaraches and very versatile! I did a 10-mile walking day in these last year.

Huaraches all summer long. Don’t like Birkenstocks? Huaraches. Too hot for loafers? Huaraches.

@JBMason These are the dressiest fatigues I’ve ever seen. Camp collar shirt seems a natural fit here, though I might go with a brown belt and shoe instead personally, but black loafer > white sneaker.

@slcvz The visible zipper closure and the little opening you leave is actually the icing on the cake

@alecttrona Don’t love the shape of the jacket quarters on the merlot suit, and it’s also a little too short, so it looks simultaneously very old fashioned (80s) and recently out of style (10s). Lapels also a little narrow.

Percival have some of the most beautiful linen suits I’ve seen this season. I especially love the double-breasted style and the merlot colour is divine

@WellBuiltStyle Oversized AND super slim look ridiculous on everyone. But what looks good is about more than just height, build also matters. Important to find the right balance but keeping away from the extremes.

Attention all short men (<5'9"): The fastest way to look even shorter is hopping on the baggy, oversized trousers trend. Avoid.

@rachcorrine 100%! I wore pants that were too slim for my generous rear proportions for a long time and now that I’m paying attention, I realize that no matter what’s “in” that cut just doesn’t work very well for me. Unflattering and uncomfortable. High rise, full cut, and pleats = success

This needs to be on timeline. If baggy is in but you are short or very skinny, you’re going to look like you’re swimming in the clothes. Similar thing if you are super thick / muscular. Form fitting clothes are going to look silly. At the end of the day, the best clothes are the ones that fit. Remember. You wear the clothes, the clothes don’t wear you.

You will scroll social media and see 80 different ways your child can die or harm themselves or set themselves back. “As a nutritionist, here are 6 foods I would NEVER let my child eat” “as a speech language pathologist, here are 3 signs that your child is behind” “as an ER doctor of 15 years, here are the top 10 things I would never let my child play with” “my nephew drowned, here’s what I learned about outdoor safety” and that’s all in 35 seconds worth of clips. Pretty wild.

@esaagar The thing is, banning phones at school may only have marginal immediate effects on test scores, because we’re talking about kids who have been saturated in screen culture for years. It will take some time for the full benefits to appear.

@denimneverdies Thank you for saying this, it’s so annoying and it’s where the “x is a human right” being allowed to go unchecked leads. Food, housing, healthcare, education, etc. are not human rights! Society has to create and provision them through work under one mode of prod or another!

I'm on the same side of this politically, but sometimes it does feel like some leftists imagine that food just appears in the grocery store rather than being a product of other people's labor, whom your labor is meant to compensate

@JBMason High rise and full cut were such a game changer for me. Everything works better. Shirt tuck. Comfort. Proportions. The lack of elastane means pants keep their shape all day. I can do stretches without feeling like I’m bursting a seam. 10/10

Are you transitioning? Going from slim fit pants to a fuller cut can feel like a personality shift. A few tips: - 12”+ front rise - 8-9” leg opening - Longer inseam - Start w/ denim or chinos Once you make the change, there’s no going back.

@JBMason Collar size! Tiny collar completely throws off the proportions of the model in an uncanny way. One of my rules of dress is never wear a collar that’s apologizing for its own existence.
