Model is back to this for me today on Staging (main). Testing the weird dithering effect you get on hair when you are not close enough, looks bad from distance. I hope they fix it. Highest possible settings but 1080p with TSSAA, only FXAA has any effect but also looks bad. #Rust

the only moronical thing is saying I know nothing about technical things and then not naming one technical thing when I compared engines, customer hardware, software and dev hardware with specifics.
Comparing graphics is 100% valid when the matter discussed is that the technology we have now is like comparing coal power to a nuclear reactor and we get worse results.
Doesnt matter if the games are not the same genre.

Lots of discussion surrounding the updated Rust player model.
Your model is updated, what your player looks like on Staging now will likely change for release in June.
On the roadmap, we do have player customization scheduled to be released Q4 2026, allowing you to change your appearance.
