This is nonsense. There is plenty of heavy handed, cringey woke stuff in that third season of the OG Star Trek. God, I truly wish people who claim to be knowledgeable about Star Trek would put down their nostalgia glasses and put on some real ones. You’d see that Star Trek has always been woke and done it amazingly in some episodes/movies and also done it super cringey in some episodes/movies. That has ALWAYS been its legacy. If people would stop trying to romanticize its past, the “woke” discourse happening now would be much better off and be much more authentic.

@RMBee @slider8600 It’s a terribly executed episode: lousy guest star, cringey kids, overcooked performance by Shatner, and poor pacing… but I do like the idea of children as a conduit for a malevolent dead civilization… it could've had Gothic horror potential if done well. Alas, it wasn’t!
