मुंब्रा से AIMIM पार्षद सहर शेख का कहना है कि हिंदुओं में भी अश्वमेध यज्ञ और पशुबलि की परंपरा थी तो बक़रीद की आलोचना क्यों होती है चुनाव के लिये नक़ली OBC सर्टिफ़िकेट बनवाने का मुक़दमा झेल रही सहर शेख को इतनी सी बात समझ में नहीं आती कि समय के साथ हिंदुओं ने इन परंपराओं को बदल दिया, बलि की जगह नारियल फोड़ा जाने लगा और अश्वमेध यज्ञ की जगह भाजपा की चुनावी मशीन आ गयी 😎 वो हजरत इब्राहिम की क़ुर्बानी याद दिलाती हैं जो अपने बच्चे की बलि देने को तैयार थे पर ये नहीं बतातीं कि उस क़ुर्बानी की तुलना बकरा काट के खा जाने से कैसे हो सकती है चौदह सौ साल बाद भी हर बात को वैसे ही पकड़े रहना आपको “लकीर का फ़क़ीर” बनाती है और धरती आज भी चपटी ही रह जाती है 😉

The Assam Uniform Civil Code is not uniform at all. It completely exempts tribal communities from UCC’s coverage. Every community has the right to protect its culture under Article 29, but why is only the tribals’ autonomy being protected? This is the imposition of a law that no one wants. The constituent assembly did not envision a mandatory UCC. In Islam, no one can exclude an heir from inheritance. No one can write a will to give their whole property to one son or deny their daughter inheritance. This UCC allows anyone to write a will and deny their daughters their fair share. This is far from a gender just law.
