@GuyDealership One aspect of trade-ins for most consumers: it’s the only instance in our economy where one plays the role of both seller & buyer. It’s a rare event buying a vehicle…throw selling into the same transaction without a transparent process is a recipe for adversarial transactions.

Always get your trade-in appraised *before* negotiating the price of a car: Lots of dealers advertise below-market car prices but then attempt to make up the difference by paying you less for your trade-in.
