Flotilla leader Thiago Avila got his detention extended until Sunday. He entered court with hands clasped behind his back as if he’s handcuffed. He’s not. Even the guard looks confused. There’s nothing real about this people.

Loay Alnaji killed 69-year-old Jewish man Paul Kessler in November 2023. Today, he pled guilty. Alnaji, a naturalized citizen from Jordan, was set to go to trial on May 14th. The sentence he’s facing? 1 year in prison, 3 years of probation. We have no words for this lunacy.

Content warning ⚠️ - an elderly Jewish man has been killed by a pro Palestinian protestor who hit him over the head with a megaphone at yesterday’s Israel rally. Sadly, the victim has passed away from internal bleeding. May his memory be a blessing and his attacker be prosecuted to the fullest degree of the law!

Flotilla members are dancing like sexy terrorists and making the Hamas triangle symbol to try and free their leaders. I don’t think this is helping.

“The Israeli genocide is guilty of creating too many fancy restaurants in Gaza” is peak, perfect retardation. Congrats, guys: after three years of crazy lies and blood libels, you finally hit rock bottom.

While I wasn’t there yesterday to see it in person, what I have seen is incredibly troubling and disappointing. It is very difficult to execute meaningful consequences on tenured faculty but as a leader I can help set the tone and expectations for their conduct. His conduct was unbecoming for a leader of the greatest university in the world. As the Board of the university we have an opportunity to make lasting changes that will change the course of this conduct. I look forward to that discussion with my colleagues on the Board of Regents and the university Administration.

This is from The New School/Parsons Update Regarding University Student Senate Communication May 02, 2026 Joel Towers, President and University Professor
Richard Kessler, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
Robert Mack, Vice Provost for Student Success and Engagement ‌ ‌Dear Members of The New School Community, We are writing to inform you that yesterday, the University Student Senate (USS) issued a communication on Instagram stating that they had declared Hillel, a New School Registered Student Organization (RSO), “not in good standing, ineligible for university funding, and [barred from] collaboration with the USS.” To avoid any misunderstanding, the University Student Senate does not have the authority to determine official status, funding eligibility, or the recognition of RSOs. Our Hillel chapter remains, as it always has been, in good standing, eligible for funding, and supporting Jewish life at The New School. The USS statement positions its action as a matter of principle and democratic process; it is neither. By distorting a qualified student organization and characterizing it as something it is not, the USS is using its platform to target fellow students in a misguided attempt to hold those students responsible for the acts of governments. The university will take all necessary steps to ensure that the USS acts within its actual purview in this instance and going forward. We are taking immediate action to address it, and Hillel will receive all funding that it is due. The recognition of registered student organizations and their compliance with university rights and responsibilities rests with The New School administration. Our recognition and review of RSOs are made through established institutional processes, applied consistently and equitably across all organizations. This authority is held by the administration to avoid any perceived or real bias in decisions around RSOs. It ensures that all students are treated fairly and that our institutional policies and values are upheld. Those values include a rejection of violence, hate or discrimination toward any individual or group and an embrace of understanding, learning, and a commitment to open dialogue. These beliefs are core to The New School and are especially helpful in guiding us when the challenges confronting the world around us, and within our own institution, are complex and profoundly disturbing. There are many ways to uphold our values and fulfill our obligations. This unilateral action by the USS is not one.

🚨 BREAKING: On the two-year anniversary of Columbia’s Hind’s Hall occupation, Sunrise Movement says more than 100 “students” have taken over the steps of Low Memorial Library. The footage raises an obvious question. How many protesters are students? A lot look much older.

This week, a Jewish man exited Adas Torah Synagogue and was violently assaulted by an attacker yelling “free Palestine.” This is the SAME synagogue that came under attack by protestors in June 2024 upon which it was determined that a “buffer zone” was necessary to protect Jewish institutions. Nearly two years later, that “buffer zone” has yet to be enacted. This morning, I specifically attended prayers at Adas Torah to make clear: We will never allow hate to win. We must ensure that good triumphs over antisemitism’s evils.
