My first solo exhibition in New York, Eyes Half Open, opens June 1 at Nguyen Wahed. The exhibition brings together three viewing instruments I invented: Imagraph, a projector for closed eyes; Lived Montage, glasses that cinematically share vision among participants; and Training Wheels, lenses formed from written instructions and polished brass rings. The exhibition takes up “eyes half open” as a recurring posture for mediating the distance between oneself and what lies beyond.
