@JacintaAllanMP You’re a disgrace! There should never have been a welcome to Country in the first place.

In Toowoomba today, I visited local businesses like Bandland and Press’d Coffee & Wine, speaking directly with operators and locals about the pressures they’re facing.
These are small businesses at the heart of their community — employing locals, backing other businesses, and keeping regional economies moving.
Right now, they’re under real pressure.
What I heard was consistent: costs are rising, margins are tightening, and confidence is falling.
And when confidence drops, investment stalls, hiring slows, and communities feel it.
Energy, rent and insurance are all going up, while the system is becoming more complex, not simpler.
And when government spending drives inflation higher, that pressure doesn’t ease — it flows straight through to small business and families.
Too many small businesses are being forced into survival mode, rather than being able to grow.
And Australians are paying for it.
If we want strong regional economies, we need to get the basics right — lower costs, simpler rules, and a system that backs small business, not one that holds it back.
Because when small business is under pressure, regional Australia feels it first.

Labor is desperately canvassing energy companies to see their appetite for a new oil refinery in Australia as net zero politics takes a decisive shift in the space of just a few months, writes James Bolt.

Today I spoke with President Tô Lâm of Vietnam.
Our trade with Vietnam is at record levels. But there’s more we can do together to grow both our economies.
President Tô Lâm and I committed to continue our work boosting trade and strengthening links between our businesses.
We also discussed the conflict in the Middle East, and the importance of countries in our region working together to address energy security.
Vietnam is an important partner, and we’ll keep building on that relationship.

Regional Victorian MPs, including Premier Jacinta Allan and several of her ministers, are each pocketing tens of thousands of dollars every year for privately owned inner-city pads — thanks to a scheme set up by former Premier Daniel Andrews. > bit.ly/3QqpYj5

Labor has made it clear: they don’t want migrants to assimilate or share common values.
They prefer a nation of ethnic ghettos — it makes ethnic branch-stacking, identity politics, and buying votes with taxpayer-funded multiculturalism much easier.
If that’s the Australia you want, keep voting Labor — or for a TEAL “independent” who backs them.

Like so many countries, Australia requires gas and oil to function. That’s not going to change anytime soon.
But Chris Bowen and Labor disregard the facts. Instead, they indulge in an ideological green fantasy.
Nowhere in the world can an economy function on part-time renewable energy and batteries alone. Especially a country the size of Australia.
Today, Labor’s talking about building a new oil refinery. It’s all talk. What’s going to supply the refinery when Labor refuses to dig and drill?
We need a government that puts energy security and economic security before green ideology.

Today NZ Finance Minister @NicolaWillisMP and I convened leaders from some of the industries hardest hit by disruptions to fuel and energy supply chains, including representatives from the aviation, agriculture, banking, food and grocery, and transport sectors.
Securing more fuel and strengthening supply chains is in the interest of both Australia and New Zealand, it’s a focus of both governments and it was a big focus of our work today.
