@smickable @Google @DuckDuckGo Once you download Duck Duck Go, the first question you get is do you want the regular version with AI or the AI free version. If you select the AI free version it clarifies if you want AI for certain situations. I selected zero situations, and it’s been GREAT so far.

google getting rid of traditional search might be one of the triggers for the AI crash. It will basically decimate a lot of small business that rely on google to push them.

Being 43 is wild. People your age are living completely different lives. Some are grandparents. Some are raising toddlers. Some are newly divorced. Some are newly engaged. Some haven’t slept in three years. Some are in St. Tropez posting Aperol spritzes from a yacht. Some look 25. Some look like they personally remember the invention of Tupperware. Nobody got the same assignment.

When the internet showed up the response was largely excitement; older folks were more apprehensive while younger generations were enthusiastic. AI is the opposite: boomers lap it up and rich people shove it down our throats while everyone else is saying “ew gross”.
Rushi@rushicrypto

I have heard people claim that the reaction people are having against AI is the same reaction people had when the internet started to be introduced. And as someone who was there at the time, I can tell you NO IT FUCKING WASN'T.

Trump was just given a blanket pardon from the IRS for any past, present, or future tax crimes.

It’s really weird to watch everyone over the age of like 50 go through AI psychosis. Why the fuck would you need a bot to list/read the names of people who graduated? Who made that decision? Like what the fuck is going on in everyone’s head right now

You don’t miss Blockbuster. You miss living a simple, nonperformative life. You miss eye contact and company. You can bring back Blockbuster now but without the other stuff, you’d still turn off the movie after 20 minutes because you were looking at your phone instead.
Paul Anleitner@PaulAnleitner

If Pizza Hut can return, then we can resurrect Blockbuster. And we should. While Netflix made things more “convenient” we lost something irreplaceable: The ritual of going to a place with your family or friends to choose a story together. That experience was special.

Data Centers aren’t just about surveillance or AI. That’s the COVER. It’s about WATER CONTROL, folks. They’re gonna start RATIONING water to us peasants. Y’all keep thinking it’s ‘going back to normal’. It’s bout to get A LOT worse before it gets better. But get out & VOTE!😂🤦🏽‍♂️

There is not a single human who truly needs AI to survive, but every living creature on Earth needs clean air and fresh water.

It’s so unbelievably sick they didn’t even think this woman was a violent threat, she just went on the roof of her building. Something thousands of people do in the summer in NYC. They humiliated her and risked killing her and the baby for fun, not to mention no pain meds.
Scott Hechinger@ScottHech

READ: A woman was forced to give birth in Brooklyn criminal court 2 nights ago on a courtroom bench. Shackled. All while courtroom personnel gawked. And the judge ultimately refused even to dismiss her case--trespassing on her own rooftop. This is "justice" in America. More:
