@ndchiappini Why did the nucleofuge and the tree go to therapy together? Because they both had a tendency to leave!

Tension breakers for tonight's orgo exam: topics: stereochem, reaction mechs, SN1/SN2 "What do alkyl halides and trees have in common?" they both like to LEAVE "Why are chiral molecules immune to 7 years of bad luck?" they don't have a MIRROR plane to break

@thomasforth £70 million overspend (so far...) just on the Botley Bridge section - Golden Triangle Oxford. £161-->231. Such bad feelings in the area, they sent the Transport Minister round several times to help! bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

There is a belief among a huge swathe of British policy thinkers that investment in transport is much higher in South East England than in North England because it offers better return on investment. This has never been true within our national estimation methods.

@antonhowes Then you drop the real bombshell that we often get the year wrong when discussing the Tudors (parliamentary year?).

The relevant law, if you're interested, is 6 Henry VIII c.3. It's often written as being in 1514, but this is just because of how the calendar changed from when the new year used to start in March. In modern terms it was passed in the Parliament that sat February to March 1515.

We really have no idea how good we have it. From 1515 in England there was a legally-mandated 66-hour *minimum* work week during the spring and summer months for urban workers, which fell in the autumn and winter along with pay. (Sneak peek from my book draft):

Our work on Zinc structure and descriptors of diorganozincs (ZnR2) is now out in @CommsChem Empirical predictions of ZnR2 Lewis acidity and more... Plenty of time at Diamond i20 with Kevin Lovelock (+Lewis, Frances & Shu) and some very pretty orbitals. nature.com/articles/s4200…
