Sov Cit Alert: I was just watching the "Commissioning of the Chief Continental Marshal and the opening of the Continental Marshal Service!" with fake judge Anna von Reitz They say they are getting rid of the US Marshals and are installing their own volunteers called "Continental Marshals" This dude is being sworn in. He is the "Chief Continental Marshal" and as such has earned the "Continental Marshal Star" today. The lady in the photo is Lisa Schaffer, and she has granted him powers to arrest, etc.

@zhuoyanakl But requirement was for off-street with airport style lounges. Ecan/city had through-routed bus network. 10 years of successful operation shows reversing can work if peds can be excluded.

@zhuoyanakl I (40+ years public transport planner) worked on that project. The passenger amenity was a key requirement since the success of the previous bus exchange. Site was what we had to work with and was tight. Would have preferred on-street arrangements with lounges...

christchurch bus interchange feels quite nice as a facility in terms of passenger amenity. though i'm curious about how much it's a bottleneck for future growth - also seems odd to have one central station in a city with a strong street grid + heavy through-routing.
