We're using both Unity and Unreal Engine for different games! - Unity for a closed space horror game - Unreal for an open world cinematic horror game One of the game - Night at the mall is available on Steam! If anyone is confused what to use, can ask me in comments!

I've created it for specific game over years, while it doesn't offer any cutting edge tech comparable big engines like UE (realtime GI, virtualized geometry, etc). It's has neat stuff, planetary scale weather simulation with volumetric rendering, custom projections for pixel art rendering in 3d world (that can reconcile with place on 3d sphere - planet surface with volumetric raymarch atmosphere). Fluid sim to build flow field for river in realtime. Destruction physics for buildings including stability simulation. Very advanced destruction model for vehicles including armor penetration, projectile ricochet and so on. Fairly decent compute particle systems. x.com/JanOrszulik/st…

@smoothriz We're using Unreal Engine. I think it's the ideal engine for making the kind of game we want. UE5 is truly a boundary-pushing engine.
